Who We Are

The Original Doyenne
My name is Lehlogonolo Mahlatse Grace Debeila, but most people know me as “Tlhogi” or “Grace”. From a young age, I’ve been driven by a love for both the arts and the sciences.
As the founder of QuanDoyen, I’ve spent nearly two decades crafting a career that marries quantitative precision with creative expression, transforming complex financial challenges into elegant solutions.
My journey began with a pivotal choice between Actuarial Science and Journalism – a decision that reflects the duality that would later define QuanDoyen’s distinctive approach. While I chose the quantitative path, my passion for creative communication never dimmed.
Over thirteen years at South Africa’s premier portfolio management firms, I developed deep expertise in portfolio construction, investment strategy, and risk management. Working alongside industry veterans, I honed not just technical skills, but the art of making complex concepts accessible.
The subsequent years as an independent consultant crystallized my vision: sophisticated quantitative solutions don’t have to be opaque – they can be as clear as they are powerful. The transition to independent consulting also allowed me to immerse myself in the technological frontier of finance and more broadly, data science. The skills attained have amplified both my analytical prowess and creative expression
Our Philosophy
France has gifted the world with brilliant minds who transformed the complex into the profound – from the mathematical elegance of Pascal and Poincaré to the philosophical insights of Descartes, to the artistic innovations of Monet, to the technological breakthroughs of Louis Pasteur and the Lumière brothers. At QuanDoyen, we draw inspiration from this rich intellectual heritage.
We believe that excellence in quantitative finance requires the precision of mathematics, the wisdom of philosophy, the power of technology, and the expressiveness of art.
Like the mathematicians who crafted elegant theorems, we bring rigorous precision to our analytical work. In the spirit of France’s great philosophers, we look beyond the numbers to uncover deeper meanings and strategic insights. Following in the footsteps of French innovators who pioneered photography, cinema, and computing, we harness cutting-edge technology to amplify our analytical capabilities. And like the impressionist masters who revolutionized how we see the world, we transform complex financial concepts into vivid, accessible visualizations.
